Office Policies

Sweet Smiles is here to provide extraordinary dental care to children. We believe in educating parents and children in the importance of dental care. This is why we encourage parents to come back and experience their child’s dental appointment. Sweet Smiles is a place where children feel at home and can feel at ease.

Scheduling Appointments
Sweet Smiles attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. We do ask that Preschool children be seen in the morning, this is because they are more alert and we can work efficiently with your child to make the experience a good one. We understand it’s hard for kids to miss school. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning due to better cooperation. Dental appointments are an excused absence. When regular dental care is practiced, absences from dental appointments can be kept at a minimum. Since every appointment is tailored to your child’s specific needs, we do ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Payment and Insurance
Sweet Smiles is pleased to file your insurance for you. Please note insurance may not cover the cost of your full visit, this means you are responsible for any unpaid balance by insurance. If you do not have insurance, payment will be due at time services are rendered. We accept Cash, Check, and all Major Credit Cards.

Financial and Insurance

Insurance:
As a courtesy to our patients, we will happily file any Dental PPO Insurance for you. Please be aware the payment for treatment is due at the time services are rendered. Insurance plans and benefits are an agreement between the Employee and Employer; your benefits may not be the same as everyone’s. At each visit to our office, you will be responsible for co-pays, deductibles, and balances not covered by the insurance.

The staff at Sweet Smiles strives to give you the most accurate ESTIMATE for treatment. Please note any treatment plan given to you is an ESTIMATE and an ESTIMATE only. Insurance does not guarantee coverage of benefits and/or payment of benefits. Just because insurance does not cover a procedure DOES NOT mean your child no longer needs it.

In order to file dental claims accurately and quickly, it is very important that you provide us with the correct information. This may include the Subscriber’s (card holder) date of birth, social security number, place of business, group number, and subscriber/policy number. Please bring a copy of your dental insurance card to every appointment. If insurance is unable to provide proof of eligibility before the scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the full cost of the treatment performed. If and when insurance pays you will be reimbursed for the credit on your account.

Our office is currently in-network with most Dental PPO Insurance plans including HumanaMetlifeCignaAmeritasUnited ConcordiaBlue Cross Blue ShieldAetnaDeltaDelta PremierGuardian, Principal, and Assurant.

Financial:
At Sweet Smiles, we are committed to your child’s treatment being a positive experience. Please note that payment for services is part of your child’s treatment.

To help assist you as much as possible, we accept payments by cash, check, debit, and also accept all major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

The parent or guardian who brings the child to the appointment will be the one responsible for payment at that time. If anyone other than the responsible parents are bringing the child/children please let the office know prior to the appointment so special arrangements can be made.
